FLOW PHENOMENA MODELING

This research unites diverse projects with a common methodological focus, the use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling techniques, which allow us to leverage the power of high-performance computing to simulate physiological flow phenomena in the human body. We use CFD simulations to guide the development of diagnostic techniques and therapeutic approaches to address militarily relevant pathologies.

We are investigating the coupled effects of biochemical processes and blood flow on the characteristics of trauma-induced blood clotting.

We are investigating the ability to non-invasively diagnose lower-airway diseases in the lung.
